GREEN VALLEY PUBLIC SCHOOL-KOLAR

We could not have asked for better. The Kolar event was full of fun and frolic. This Saturday, Trendsetters move out of Bangalore for the first time. The venue was Garden Public School in Begli Hosahalli, near Kolar. The team comprising of Sridhar, Srikanth and Raghavendra set out for the journey to arid zone. The school trustee and headmaster Mr Muniswamy had made elaborate arrangements besides taking us in his car. As the name suggests, the school is located in the green locales amidst sapota gardens.

As we reached the place by 11.40 am, around 48 students representing class four, five and eight had gathered at a Paragola. Seating arrangement was also arranged for teachers to monitor the event.

There was a curiosity among the students as to what these Bangalore boys would teach. The class began with a small introduction followed by an inspirational speech by Srikanth. The process started with Raghavendra making students into five groups. Luckily, we had taken a box of chocolates to encourage the kids who were eager to get chocolates by giving correct answers. Then, we had a small game on ' India and Pakistan '.

So, with fun taking a back stage, we gave five mathematical problems to students and some of the intelligent students came forward with quick and accurate answers. So, the next phase was giving a concept-bus stand. Though most of them came out with skits on buses, the concept and the play was really interesting. One group did on ticket loss costing KSRTC exchequer, the second group stressed ban on smoking. The third group said the passengers should give way for aged people, the fourth suggested ways to behave with aged people while the last group came up on following queue system and not spitting in the bus. However, all the groups were unanimous in one aspect that the bus should stop in the designated stops.

After giving feedback on the skit, Srikanth took up the jar game. So, before wrapping up, we had another game of bus and car. We only hoped that for the first time we were teaching our target audience. We could not believe that the class went on for 150 minutes as the students showed no signs of fatigue.

After concluding the class, we headed to Kolar for the lunch. There was a brief trekking for us at Antaragange, where water oozes out of Nandi 24X7.

2 - Well Done !!!

A great experience.

Experiernce cannot be explained.

Improvisation Areas: I think we have to prepare ourself for the skit, which we enact before the students. With accurate dialogue delievery. While enacting found that the queries made by Sridevi, and the answers given by layman were irrelevant. But to save the show as always Mr.Bore Gowda ( Mr.Sridhar ) was with us.

Bye
Hv Fun
